Installing Foxee into ExpressionEngine is easy. If you are upgrading your store please follow the instructions in the upgrade section.
When installing third party modules you should always backup your database and files before starting.
Installing
- Upload the module files: Upload the module files in BINARY mode to the appropriate directories in your EE system folder. All files must be uploaded in binary mode. Do not use auto detection with your FTP software.
- Download Directory: Foxee provides a empty directory in the module folder for your downloads. You can change the location of your downloads directory form the settings panel. The download directory must be set with a permission of 777. (some installations may require 755)
- Enable your ExpressionEngine extensions: If you have extensions already enabled then Foxee will activate its extension the first time you access the module.
- Install the Module: In the ExpressionEngine modules tab click the install button for Foxee.
Upgrading
- Backup Your Database You should back up your database to prevent any loss of data.
- Upload the module files: Upload all of the new files in BINARY mode.
- Extension: Replace the ext.foxee_extension.php file in your system/extensions directory.
- Language: Replace the lang.foxee.php file in your system/language/english directory.
- Module: Replace all of the files in the system/modules/foxee directory EXCEPT the Downloads Folder.
- Access the Foxee module: In the EE module control panel access the Foxe module. Foxee will automatically update your database tables. The next time you access the module panel in EE you will find the updated version number.
- If you have any customized database tables it will break the installer.
- Make sure you do not have any cached data.
- Settings: Update your settings in the general settings area of Foxee, you will also want to update your product settings.
- Extension: You no longer need to enable or disable the extension, Foxee will do that for you on installation.
