General Settings

The General Settings panel is the most important section to ensure your store is setup properly.

Use the Setup Guide's "Setting Up Your Store" section to get started.

We will go through each setting and describe its function below.

General Settings section

Active

Set the FoxEE module to Yes or No. Deactivating the store allows you to keep all your settings while turning off the weblog interaction.

Weblog associated with products

Select the weblog(s) you wish to have FoxEE associate for your products. In the Publish and Edit tabs for your entries you will see a new item available called "foxee".

Currency Symbol

Set the desired currency symbol for your store. This will be used anywhere FoxEE displays a price for your product or customers' orders. You must also change the FoxyCart settings in the Template - Language settings section if you are going to use any currency other then the English default.

Currency Symbol Placement

Select where you would like your currency symbol to be placed; before or after the price.

Downloadable File Path

This must be the full server path to your downloads folder. By default, FoxEE has a download directory in the modules folder. You may wish to choose a different location as this will make the update process easier. Once the download folder is used by the module, you will need root access to your server to remove it or overwrite it.

FoxEE Email Address

Set the FROM email address you wish to use for all of the FoxEE generated emails.

FoxEE Email Name

Set the FROM email name you wish to be used on all of your FoxEE generated emails.

Thank You For Your Order Email

Select the email form you wish to use if you wish to send out an email once a user has successfully purchased from your store. You can create several different email forms in the Emails section of the Settings panel.

Payment Expiring Soon Email

Select the email form you wish to use to notify members when their credit card on file for recurring payments is about to expire.

Welcome New Member Email

Select the email form you wish to use when a member subscribes to your site.

New Member Default Group

Select the ExpressionEngine member group into which you wish to place members when they complete a successful checkout. This is default for all purchases. If you wish to place members in a different group based on a subscription or purchase, you can set that for the specific product. Once the subscription ends the user will be placed in this Default group.

Install the Foxee Test Template

Foxee provides a test template that can be used to easily test and build your store. Click the link to automatically create a new template group named "Foxee" and a new template called "foxee_test_template". Once your store is configured you can quickly test your settings by loading (viewing) the test template in your browser. After you have made sure that everything is working properly simply copy the code blocks from the test template into your sites templates. Read more about the Foxee Test Template HERE.

Automatically Syncing EE Members with FoxyCart

You can choose to automatically pass EE member information to FoxyCart when they register on your site. This allows for a seamless integration between the two servers. When a user is logged into EE and goes to checkout their user information will be readily available in the checkout form. Read more detail about Member Registration HERE.

Automatically Create and Map Member Profile Fields

Foxee uses EE's custom profile fields to hold users billing and shipping information. You can automatically create the required profile fields instantly by clicking on the "Automatically create and Map Member fields" link. Additionally you can manually map your existing profile fields to FoxyCart if you have existing fields. After automatically creating your profile fields hit the "Submit" button then go back and select your Shipping same as Billing preferences and Mapping selections then hit "Submit" again.
