Pricing Options in FoxEE
Important Notes
- There are a maximum of 5 values that can be set to a Pricing Option.
- There are a maximum of 3 Pricing Options that can be associated to one product
- Once a Pricing Option is associated to a product and there are inventories set for the values, the TOTAL "quantity on hand" is acquired by the summation of the inventories set in the Pricing Options of a product
- For the Pricing Options to display for a product the "addtocart" template tag must be used and the "method" parameter must be set to form
Pricing Options are very similar to Custom Fields in terms of setup. A Pricing Option can have a Label (which is what's displayed next to the form field), a name (which is used to name the form field), and values.
Each value can adjust the price and the weight in either a positive or negative way.
In the picture above, The Pricing Option Labeled "Size" has three Option Values setup. The first value, "small", will subtract the weight of a product by 0.5lb and subtract price by $1.00. The second value, "medium" will do no adjustments. The third large, "large", will add 0.5lb and add $1.00. Now that the Pricing Optioni set it now needs to be associated to products
In the above FoxEE publish form the first Pricing Option is set to the "Size" Pricing Option that was previously made. Notice that each value for the "Size" Pricing Option now shows under the selector and a text input is next to each. The inputs are used to set an inventory of the product that are "small" or "medium" or "large". Now when a customer selects a value from the "Size" Pricing Option the inventory of the Product that is associated to the Pricing Option value is subtracted by the quantity they've purchased.
