Hi,

I’ve just transferred and EE installation from one server to another.  I updated system/config, but did not touch any FoxEE settings because the installation docs did not say to do so.

When I login to the CP, I get

Parse errorsyntax errorunexpected '}' in /www/eh10786/public_html/system/extensions/ext.foxee_extension.php on line 1

Please advise.

Thanks,

Ben

Couple things, this is happening because of the way you transfered the files with your FTP program. Make sure its set to Binary only.

Also since you posted in the 109 forums, I am assuming that you are still using 109. I recommend that you upgrade to 110. It has tons more features and stability and is a free upgrade for you.

Thanks Michael.  I reuploaded the modules directory and the error is gone. However, EE docs say to upload almost everything as ASCII. Is the Binary requirement just for FoxEE?

I’ll let my client know he can switch to 110 (just moving the install to start).

Binary mode will force the files encoding, so ASCII or UTF8. Some FTP clients will transfer files in UTF8 mode when set to automatic. This is what causes the most problems.
