I am having the same problem. I have changed the hashes to match to no avail. I have tried with FoxyCart 4, 5, and 5.1 to no avail. The only way I can log in with a Foxee-created user is to go in and manually change the password from superadmin.

Also, I wanted to mention that I am having the issue where Foxee is one membership behind as mentioned here: http://www.hccdevelopment.com/Web-Based-Software/Support-Forums/viewthread/294/ just in case the issues are related somehow.

A quick resolution to both problems would be great.

Foxee 109 build 052

Thanks.

It sounds like you are having very similar issues to me. Hopefully, now that is not just me experiencing this, a resolution might surface sooner.

Hey Michael and others on the FoxEE team,

I’m not trying to double post, but thought it would be helpful if the other posters here are aware they aren’t alone.

My big question is - why does FoxEE generate a different password at all? Shouldn’t it pull the password you type in at checkout?

For example, when I check out for the first time and create an account, I type my email and then, for instance, “password” for the password. I proceed through checkout, then get an email from FoxEE with another password, randomly generated. This randomly generated password does work when I attempt to log into the control panel. However, it does not work at checkout - the original “password” password does.

My guess is that I didn’t follow instructions somewhere, since it’s clear that FoxEE is generating an EE password (which works), while FoxyCart checkout is looking for a FoxyCart password. The two just need to be synched somehow.

Hi guys,

You should have received a email that address the password handling between FoxyCart and EE. As vossavant pointed out in his last post, the old process was confusing and illogical. Please read the email and post a new thread if you are having problems.

Also for those of you who are using SHA1 - We found a bug in the FoxyCart SHA1 selection and they are going to be providing a fix over the weekend. They have to shut down the server for a short period so it will probably happen Sat. or Sun morning

Thanks

Thanks Michael - that really cleared things up. I’ll wait for the FoxyCart update and install the new build of FoxEE tomorrow. Will post back with the results.

FoxyCart already updated, in order to use SHA1 you need to select store 5.0. It has been removed from store 4.0. Hope this helps.

I’m sure this has been considered, but is there any future plan to collaborate with FoxyCart so we can show the member’s password in the welcome email?

I.e., will it eventually be possible to add {password} back into the email templates and populate it with the FoxyCart password? I imagine some people will forget it between checking out and trying to sign in for the first time…although there is always the EE “lost password” feature.

Hi Vossavant,

Unfortunately no, we made the decision to remove the password tag as a security feature and the ability to retrieve it through EE like you mentioned.
