Hello,

I am having an issue with the website going blank after I enable the Resource Extension. I can install the module with no problems, but as soon as I enable the extension, the website does not render.

I tried turning on the “display errors” to see whats going on, but the website stays white.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is due to a corrupt file transfer. Make sure you have uploaded your files in Binary mode to your server.

Ive tried everything.
Every time I enable the extension there is what the home page source looks like:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN”>
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content=“text/html; charset=windows-1252”></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

I have uploaded 5 different times today, using different computers, ftp programs, etc..

Any idea what in the extension is making this happen? I even got in the extension and removed the extra line after the php?> which sometimes caused this phenomena, but nothing worked.

This is most commonly caused by uploading your files with the wrong settings in your FTP program. Change them to Binary and upload the files again, overwriting the original files.

Then access the the module and you should not see any errors.

You may also have conflicts with other modules or extensions. Make sure that your errors are still showing after disabling other third party addons.

I have been uploading it in Binary mode, so thats not the issue.

I can get into the module and adjust settings and do everything, but as soon as I turn on the extension, the main site goes blank.

I even installed this module on another website, just to see if it would work, and everything worked just fine on that one. So, it is something specific to the site we are installing it on. Currently on the site we are installing it on, there are no addons(modules & plugins), other than the ones that came with EE and the only extension is the jquery one for the control panel.

The site is really basic, no bells or whistles, just a straight forward website using EE templates and {embed}.

I have uninstalled, deleted the files and then reuploaded using binary and still the same thing. I have no idea what the issue is, I cant see any reason why this isn’t working.

That is strange, one make sure that your only loading one jquery file, either from FoxEE or using the FoxEE header. (you still need the foxee head tag but use the parameter to turn off jquery) Also make sure you have curl enabled.

What is the server you are running it on?

Actually the site i got the resource module for is my fathers architecture firm, so they are not running foxycart or any other module for that matter. The webpage doesn’t even have any jquery loading or any javascript for that matter. The only module running other than the default is the resource module.

Do i need to have the templates load jquery?

This happens on my site as well.
On that site I also had FoxEE…  but every time I “turned on” the Resources Module.. “boom”... there went the main site.
I purchased that in April and I haven’t found a way to make this work yet.

Has there been any update on this issue yet?

Hi Otto,

This is definitely not good and seems to be a isolated incident. Is there a way we could get access to your sever to take a look at what is going on?

Thanks

You will need to load jquery and can do it with the resource header tag. The Resource Docs explain more.

I added the following to the template in the <head></head>:

{exp:resources:headers load_jquery="yes" load_jquery_form="yes"

This still didnt fix the issue. I enable the extension and the site goes blank.

I cannot figure this out.
Could this have anything to do with the fact that I use the .htaccess file to remove the index.php from the URL?
