Getting started with 109 - 110 still on the way?

I’m starting a new store today and see that 110 is on the way to support FoxyCart’s new 0.5.1 release. A couple of questions:

- Is there an ETA for 110? The last update I saw on this was back on March…

- Since I have to start with 109, should I pick another version of FoxyCart from the release dropdown when I’m setting up my store?

Thank in advance for the help…

Hi - set your FoxyCart settings to store 40 and the feed to 70. Foxee 110 is currently in beta and will be available shortly and supports all the features available in 5.1

Let us know if you have any more questions.

I’m interested in this issue too.  This is a big deal because my store requires jquery 1.3.2 and 0.5.1 runs that by default.  Otherwise I get quite a few conflicts trying to run multiple versions of jquery on the same site.

What happens if a person tries to run 109 with 0.5.1 as the foxycart store version?  Badness?

Hi Mike,

FoxEE 109 will run with Jquery 1.3 but will not work with FoxyCart’s 5.1 store. You must use 4.0 with FoxEE.

Michael.

Thanks for the quick response.  I appreciate it.

I wish that this fact had been made more clear somewhere on the FoxEE part of the site.  It’s not listed under “Requirements” on the FoxEE product page, it is not in the Docs (including in the Planning Your E-Commerce Project section), and is not part of the Release info in your news items.

Am I missing something?

I wish this had been made more clear earlier.  This is not intended as a criticism and I’m don’t want to come across as rude or impatient or demanding.  As a suggestion, the FoxyCart version that FoxEE currently supports seems to be a crucial piece of info that, in my opinion, should be included somewhere very visible on the FoxEE page (under requirements, or in the docs, or in the new release . . . or all three).  Thoughts?

Thanks again!  Can’t wait for 110 to be finished!

Mike.

Your right Mike and I apologies for any confusion. Part of the delay in making the FoxEE description and documents more clear as to versioning was having to figure out a versioning method that took into account FoxyCart, EE and FoxEE. So now that we have sorted that out I will go ahead and update our material to better explain it.

In short the new versioning system will be ass follows. 1.10.51.xx9

1 is the EE version that FoxEE is capable of
10 is the FoxEE version
51 is the Foxycart store version
xx9 would be the FoxEE build number, so 008, 009, 010

I am hoping that this will help users choose the right product for their needs.

That’s great to know.  Thanks for taking the time to explain.  I had forgotten the third platform you’re supporting (that being EE).  It must be a lot to juggle.  Keep up the good work.
